Realising a Festival Space

Stockton Borough Council were looking for an innovative creative company to imagine and realise a unique chill-out space for Stockton International Riverside Festival (SIRF), the annual 4-day outdoor arts festival. The space would provide an area for festival-goers to relax and recharge between shows, picnic and enjoy pop-up performances.

We developed the concept of ‘SIRF Green’, as a themed, site-dressed space with community and relaxation at its heart. We liaised with the SIRF festival team over several months to take the concept through to production and delivery. We managed the budget closely, the site dressing, lighting, and the production of seating and decorations by The Prop Making Company. Following several site surveys, we also devised the layout for the space, booked Easigrass to create a safe space for adults and kids to sit and play barefoot, and the Human Hedges as a themed pop-up act.
