Redcar Cemetery Mural

It is beautiful! A wonderful piece, your skill has certainly matched the wood carving on the other side.

Memorial Mural

Friends of Redcar Cemetery approached us to produce a mural in memory of the Teesmouth Lifeboatmen, commemorating their courageous devotion to those in peril from the stormy North sea.

The mural depicts ‘Paddy’s Hole’ at South Gare in Redcar; this safe haven for boats, with its tranquil natural scenes set poignantly against abandoned steelworks, is an overlooked gem of Teesside.

We worked with a trusted installation company to have the mural mounted carefully onto the back of a dramatic carving by local chainsaw sculptor Steve Iredale. To collaborate with such a skilful craftsman was a complete honour.

The mural is especially effective when dappled light falls through the surrounding trees, creating quite a striking atmosphere. You can stand and watch as sunlight dances over the artwork, adding a life-like shimmer to the water.
